White wine, dimly lit
November 5th, 2010
White wine tastes better in a dimly lit Viennese apartment, framed against a backdrop that displays a significant depth of field. The background is unfocused, of course, but as the image of the background projects through the glass, the wine sharpens it with its crispness. You see that which had previously been hidden. The wine makes everything come into focus, showing you an alternate perspective of the glass looking out, the world around it portrayed in perfect convex miniature. The images are at once clarified and distorted, created and destroyed, there and elsewhere, as they pass through a prism for truth– all before you take a single sip. White wine tastes better in a dimly lit Viennese apartment.
