post (To) Squash is Delicious

Squash. To squash. A squash. Play squash. From a method of destroying the weak to a recreational upper-middle class activity (if you haven’t heard of it, don’t worry…you don’t need to) to even a healthy vegetable, squash evokes different feelings in different people. And rightly so. In keeping with the theme of diversity, we here at chicken and rice do vehemently declare that although these three definitions are separate, they are indeed still equally delicious.

Today, we focus specifically on the culinary delicacy. Preparation—simple. To enhance the vegetable taste, stuff with sausage. Cook in the oven and serve. The results, my friends—the results will astound, for you see, the squash transforms. It soaks in the sausage juices as it slowly cooks, becoming a perfect synthesis of animal and vegetable—two great taxonomic kingdoms reborn as one. From there, its fate is up to you. Revel in its golden hue. Give it to a friend as a gift. Talk to it about your problems. The squash will listen, friends. The squash will listen. For as long as you can resist the urge to devour it, the squash will listen.
