post Diversity is Delicious

diversity

my white friend

As we celebrate the holiday season, we are given a second chance – an opportunity for rebirth and redefinition. With that in mind, I declare that ‘delicious’ can apply to more than just consumables.
Delicious is more than just one of our 5 senses. Delicious is a state of mind, and no other example of this kind of delicious rings truer than diversity.

Why diversity, you may ask? Well, diversity is like having different types of chicken. Sometimes you want chicken curry,
sometimes you want fried chicken, and maybe sometimes you even want plain chicken from your local Boston Market. Diversity gives you choices, options-diversity makes delicious even more delicious.

Think of it this way -
What did a white guy see when he looked at his family tree?
A straight line.

How Do You Starve A Mexican?
Put Their Food Stamps In Their Work Boots.

Why do Indians smell?
So blind people can hate them too.

In other words diversity brightens everyone’s day, whether it’s just through a funny one-liner in your inbox in the morning or through a funny-looking Japanese guy at work.
Diversity is laughter, laughter is happiness. And anyone who doesn’t think so is a racist.

post Beerwich, King of the Wiches

Allow me to paint the scene. You’re sitting on your couch watching the game after a tiring week at the office. Suddenly, you realize what would make this afternoon even better-a delicious sandwich and a cold beer. Not being able to get them yourself, you think about asking your significant other (woman or man-at chicken and rice, we don’t discriminate) to bring them to you, but that might be pushing your luck in this day and age. This forces the question-do you ask her/him to get in the kitchen and make you a sandwich, or do you ask her/him to get in the kitchen and get you a beer?
No longer do you have to decide. Chicken and Rice presents to you the beerwich, king of the wiches-the delicious nourishment of a sandwich with the delicious tingle of a cold one. How, you may ask? The secret is in the bread. wich

bread

Our specialist team of beerwich-technicians have
researched and perfected the recipe for beer-bread to include bacon, cheese, and of course the finest of imported ale, combining every food group into something no man/woman can resist. From there, the rest of the sandwich is up to you. Turkey, ham, more bacon-the possibilities are endless.

But the beerwich is more than just a means of sustenance. No, good viewers, it is a vehicle of freedom. No longer must you be deterred by ‘No Alcoholic Beverages Allowed’ signs. The beerwich provides you with an alternative, as last time I checked, in America sandwiches were still allowed in public. If that idea doesn’t stop people from jumping, we at chicken and rice aren’t sure what will.

That’s all for now. Until next week, chicken and rice leaves you with this simple suggestion-eat responsibly.

ep1

How does one explain the subtle line between chance and destiny? Do we decide our fates, or does the universe itself have the ability to push us to a higher purpose? What possibilities are unlocked when ordinary citizens realize that they are no longer ordinary?
Here begins the tale of Chicken and Rice. As with many beginnings, this one occurs when two strangers realize that they have something in common–as with many tales, this one begins at a bus stop. How these two will shape the world, only time can tell.
